In this study, specimens of 2205 DSS were hot tensioned over a strain rate range from 0.005 s 1 to 50 s 1 to examine the hot ductility. The crack morphology was observed, and the dependence of hot ductility on the strain rate was analyzed. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HOT DUCTILITY AND level of achieved hot ductility values is less beneficial if the strain rate is low. In this case two failure mechanisms can be observed. It is necessary to take into account like nucleation like growth process of voids. At lower strain rate, the initial voids are growing for a longer time and for this reason, the voids can attain larger dimensions.
